County Civil

Jurisdiction for County Court is cases valued at up to and including $30,000.00.

Small Claims

Small Claims cases are actions with a value up to and including $8,000.00. Each case is brought by an individual or business against another person or business.

Common types of cases handled by Small Claims include Auto Negligence, Claims for Goods Sold, Claims for Work Done and Materials Furnished, Claims for Money Lent and Promissory Notes.

County Civil

The County Civil Division handles civil actions in which the damages being sought or the matter in controversy totals between $8,001.00 and $30,000.00.

Common types of cases handled by County Civil are Auto Negligence, Contract and Indebtedness, Animal Cruelty or Neglect and other assorted cases.

When filing a case in County Court, you must prepare all of the necessary paperwork yourself or have an attorney do it for you. The Clerk's office cannot refer an attorney to you. There are no forms to hand out, nor does the Clerk prepare any paperwork in County Court.

Eviction

Eviction cases are filed pursuant to Chapter 83 of the Florida Statutes which provides general information on landlord/tenant actions. Landlord tenant actions typically involve non-payment of rent and recovering possession of the rental property.
